Our Team

Dr. Elena Lischau is a Texas native, born and raised in a suburb of Houston. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (whoop!), and graduated Magna Cume Laude with her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2017. 

Dr. Lischau then completed the University of Houston’s Brain Injury Vision Rehabilitation residency, managing patients with vision deficits such as double vision and peripheral vision loss after traumatic brain injury or stroke. She also gained experience adapting eye exams for special needs patients of all ages, and treating amblyopia and strabismus in pediatric populations. 

She has since moved to the Austin area and loves providing comprehensive eye care with the same dedicated time and intention, educating patients on preventative measures, early detection, and the most up-to-date treatments. Her experience includes myopia management, macular degeneration, glaucoma, LASIK and cataract co-management, contact lens fittings, and dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Lischau is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, the Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her adorable cockapoo Shirley (come meet her at your next visit!), going to concerts, exploring the Austin area’s food scene, and dreaming up her next travel adventure!
